I´ve seen a couple of clips where supposedly some shaolin monk fights with other fighthers. As far as I know that is not possible with an acting monk. They will not fight commercially. Only if they do not belong to the temple anymore.I agree that they can take anyone they want. People do not realize that these monks have started training when they were small kids , and all their lives.
I had the privilege of seeing them on the Lolapalooza tour, way back in the day! LOL! but, they came out and did a demonstration with their spears, like some fruit ninja stuff! then they brought out a car onstage, and that young man (monk) put the blade to his throat, with the end of the spear on the front of the car, and pushed off the stage! the most impressive thing I've ever seen, and the Beastie Boys had to follow! Best show EVER!
Stop with the MMA vs Shaolin pls , when I see throat tears and eye gouges in the MMA I might start thinking thats " real" fighting . Besides you can try to get one of these guys to tap out but honestly, I think they would just thank you for helping them stretch.

monks are the true meaning of human humans weren't meant to live off eating meat these monks are vegetarian and adore all life and yet they manage to be strong in every aspect most of us need the protein in the meat to be strong physically but not these guys, they're too awesome!

MMA is very little about punches and kicks as a sole strategy, most use them as an opening for a grab, or to weaken an opponent. If your logic was the case, any boxer could win.
MMA vs Shaolin?? Hahahaha. All the MMA I have ever seen is fighters that are motivated by $. Shaolin, Shaolin monks (IDK if it is a difference) or whatever seem to just be living a chosen life, free from the tethers of American lifestyle. It would never even happen- a pointless debate. I am considering, though, that anyone as dedicated as someone to live their ENTIRE life the way the Shaolin guys do has to be more than capable.
These Monks (and many on an even higher martial and disciplined scale) would more or less be trying NOT to kill their opposition IF it came to an organized fight. It would be like a cat playing with A toy.
